Why is this important? We monitor for content what is displayed. So all the listings are relevant to topic and content for search engine spiders. If you have posts showing up most days on the main page then any links are followed by the search engine spiders and your blogs and other down stream links will benefit from our main page google rank of 5. In the homeschooling niche this is good level.

Try turning off or disable the firewall and give it a try. Turn the firewall  back on as soon as you are done.

Time Warners free security suite includes a firewall and this was the problem for me. As soon as I disabled the firewall, which for me involves entering a password, all the plugins worked quickly and correctly. I never had the problem with the Comcast security software.

There are many other reasons why a widget will not work, such as:  bad widget, old widget, javascript, theme design, wordpress version and more I am sure. Most of the themes here at a2homeschool.com are widget ready and most widgets will work. If a widget has alot of javascript or bad script it will not install correctly. HTML works, not php, there are security reasons for this. Wordpress will strip out most code other than HTML and images.

This MU site does allow some widgets with java, you will have to just try it out. No guarantees.

The problem was it did not allow approval of comments so they  displayed publically on the blogs. The screen would hang.

Most of the capabilities of Ozh Absolute Comments plugin were incorporated into the latest version of wordpress.

I am also working to collaborate with other large homeschool sites to mutually include as many sites as we are able.

Limitations:

• Activate JavaScript – To Leave Comments or Create a A2Zhomeschool.com Blog you must have JavaScript enabled in your browser, if you are using Firefox/Mozilla, then you must get the JavaScript plug-in for Firefox.

WP Hashcash relies on the presence of two hooks in your theme, wp_head and comment_form. If your theme doesn’t include these actions, you will need to add them immediately before the </head> and </form> tags respectively.

This has reduced our spam to almost zero.
