Presidential candidate Rick Santorum told an audience today that he plans to homeschool his seven children when he is in the White House. Speaking to the Ohio Christian Alliance in Columbus, Santorum decried the government-run school system as “anachronistic“;

How do homeschool students in Phoenix get to play competitive sports?

Engaging in sports for fun and fitness or for the benefits of competitive play is of interest to many homeschooing families.  Fortunately, the Phoenix area has a number of ways students can participate in a variety of athletic teams.  Some of the most common are:

  • Sports associations or activities run by homeschoolers for homeschoolers
  • Community-based teams (through Parks and Recreation, YMCA or after school programs)
  • Public school groups that are open to homeschoolers
  • Private school teams that recruit homeschool students
  • Private companies that either focus on homeschool families or actively include them with other students.
