Blogging – My own URL versus a Hosted Blog

It was when I was working on the Course on Getting Started Blogging,  (Disclosure: I’m both a student and professionally involved with it) that I tried to think analytically about the different ways a blog could be set up and hosted.  I struggled to come up with a way to explain the different between having a blog with a blogger.com, wordpress.com, or a2zhomeschool.com address.

We ended up creating a fun 60 second video which explains the difference and why or when it matters.  The analogy that we used was the difference between a stand-alone home and an apartment or condo in a multi-unit dwelling.

It was a nice analytical / creative piece of work. Kris made it.  I can’t seem to find it on YouTube but if you take the free Blogging 101 Course (takes maybe 20 minutes total), you’ll get to see it and other gems.
